It’s marathon Sunday!

Today is the NYC marathon! This is one of my favorite days of the year in NYC. Though I’m not running (just slid in two hours ago from a conference in San Diego that I needed to attend and didn’t think it was what my third grade teacher called a “good decision”), S and about 15 others I know are–including my teammates. Go Athena NY! So what’s ahead for a marathon day full of not running? Cheering my head off, of course!

I was lucky enough to get a set of finish line bleacher tickets to see all the runners as they finish. I’m so excited I can barely contain myself! Derartu, Shalane, Meb, and Geb a few yards away! Is it bad form to jump onto the finish area to try and hug Meb? Would Haile run away if I tried to pinch his smiley cheeks, and if so, would he be tired enough from just having run a marathon through NYC’s five boroughs that I could actually catch him? Only time will tell .
